Redemptorist Parish Mission Preaching Team

Testimonials

Dear Redemptorists,

On behalf of St. Ann's church, we would like to express our gratitude for a wonderful, spirit filled conversion mission. You all were absolutely wonderful in presentation, wit & care for the souls of our St. Ann's parishioners. So many I visit with still talk about how much they loved the mission. We hope this donation will help your community. Thank you again for everything.

Sincerely

Dear Members of the Mission Team,

I am writing this letter to commend your Mission Team, for leading our parish mission the week of February 15-19, 2009. Back in 1999, our Pastoral Council decided that one of the goals of the parish was to have a parish mission conducted every three years. This year's was the fourth one for the parish, and by far, I believe was the best one. Having it take place the week before the Season of Lent prepared the parishioners for celebrating Lent with hearts and minds renewed.

What parishioners commented to me after the Mission was the faith and enthusiasm for the Lord that both Fr. John and Arturo exhibited, not only in their preaching, but also in their lives. Their preaching was down to earth, personable, solid in faith and tradition, but also blended with humor. Parishioners expressed how they never felt they were being talked down to, or made to feel guilty, but rather felt challenged and encouraged to put more into practice the things they profess to believe.

The symbols used for the Mission (we chose the conversion theme format) spoke to the parishioners in significant ways, and the utilizing of parishioners to assist in the evening sessions was a particular blessing for them. I personally was moved by the seriousness and emotion that the parishioners showed in the various prayers times, especially at the Tuesday night session when the question posed was: "Who is Jesus for you?"

Sincerely in the Lord,

Rev John E McCracken

 Dear Fathers,

Finally your faces became real. After seeing your faces in every flyer and in every bulletin, talking to you on the phone and e-mailing several times.... now I got to know you.

I hope you have fun here, with our Assumption parishioners.

They are nice, friendly and also needy, Yet, they try hard and do all they can to make it economically and spiritually.

I am sure I interpret their sentiments, especially those who joined us for the Advent Mission in thanking you for the time, dedication and hard work that you displayed with them and with us.

The Redemptorist spirit is very evident in you: the many years of dedication, preaching, listening, confessing and being witnesses is rubbing off on you. Hope you continue to enjoy your ministry. The Lord needs you and he needs all of us to continue his mission here and everywhere we are called to serve. Hope we, Giuliano, Tiziano and myself, served you adequately with food, service, companionship and good community disposition.

Thank you. Have a splendid ministry.

 Dear Fathers,

I am writing to you to express my appreciation and my praise regarding the Parish Mission that you all conducted at St. Julie Billiart Parish in Hamilton, Ohio. Although I had not participated in a Parish Mission since moving to St. Julie's over four years ago, I was drawn to attend this year. I began to feel that I needed to get more in touch with my faith about a year ago and I had been taking steps to do so. Then, I was laid off from my job of 9 years in December. I have never been out of work in all my adult life and it has been a trying experience, especially in these difficult times. I truly believe that God has a wonderful plan for me but I must admit that I still experience times of doubt and despair and I wonder about my future.

I was fortunate enough to be chosen as a Bible Minister for the first session and it was a very moving experience that I will never forget. I was uplifted and enlightened by the experience, information and presentation so I decided to come back for more the next night. I found myself wanting more and returned Tuesday and Wednesday as well. Please know that you have made a difference in my life and I am thankful for the opportunity to participate in such a meaningful and educational experience. Please keep me in your prayers and know that I do the same for you. May God Bless you and the wonderful work you do.

Sincerely

Jon Simon

It was very enjoyable, enlighting and promising having you two conduct the Parish Mission here at St. Mary of  Mt. Carmel in Long Prairie, MN.

I want to especially thank you Father John for taking time to counsel me regarding our son even though it was not anything religious in nature but you do have a sense of life in general.

Please accept this small token of appreciation and keep in mind that I would liker to help more in the future any of your endeavors.

Sincerely

D. G. L

Fathers,

I am sorry I can only give 10.00. Since my dear husband, Patrick, I have one small income. I could send 10.00 each month.

The mission has been so uplifting and inspiring. Thank you for all you have given us.

Yours sincerely,

M.O. (really Irish)

Dear Fathers,

I want to Thank you for your time of coming to our church, Holy Family in Belle Praire, MN.

I know nothing about a Mission until this week, and now I not only learned how important a Mission is to our Catholic Religion. I also learned how important it is to get to know and learn to know more about Jesus Christ. I know I have always felt that it truly is Jesus Christ's Body & Blood. When i receive Communion, because of the two of you, my pleasure of being here in church with you this week. I will hold a much more affection for the Celebration of the Eucarest while at Mass.

This week we all have laughed & cryed and Blessed each other together and have become Closer together and have become closer together as a Community. It has been a very enjoyable week. I only regret it that I am unable to contribute more to your Ministry. if I were to buy and win a lottery ticket, I would share it with you for your transportation or what ever.

All my Love,

M.W.

God Bless you all
